Curriculum

At Explorosity, our curriculum is carefully designed around how children grow, develop and learn — emotionally, physically, socially and intellectually. We believe that learning is strongest when children feel safe, connected and confident, so emotional regulation, language and relationships sit at the heart of everything we do.

Rather than rushing children towards academic outcomes, we prioritise depth, meaning and mastery. Our curriculum grows with children through clearly defined developmental stages, supporting them to become confident communicators, curious thinkers and capable individuals. Learning is not delivered as isolated activities, but through meaningful experiences, play, projects and everyday routines that build progressively over time.

Language is the spine of our nursery. From babyhood onwards, adults use rich, respectful language, slow interactions and thoughtful conversations to support children to express emotions, explain ideas and think aloud. Storytelling, dialogue and reflection are part of daily practice, helping children develop confidence in their voice and a strong sense of belonging.

Emotional regulation comes before behaviour. We aim not manage behaviour through reward or control; instead, we teach children to recognise feelings, communicate needs and resolve challenges with adult support. This approach creates calm, purposeful environments where children are intrinsically motivated and able to regulate themselves as they grow.

Outdoor learning, forest school and our kitchen garden are core parts of our curriculum, not enrichment. Children spend time outdoors every day, using nature for regulation, exploration and long-term learning. Through planting, harvesting, building and risk-taking, children develop resilience, collaboration and an understanding of the world around them.

Children at Explorosity are given genuine agency, guided by adult expertise. Adults hold the developmental intention and progression, while children contribute ideas, questions and leadership. This balance ensures learning is ambitious, inclusive and responsive to every child.

Our curriculum is inclusive by design. Support is relational, immediate and integrated into daily practice, ensuring all children access the same rich learning experiences. By the time children leave Explorosity, they do so confident, emotionally secure and ready — not just for school, but for life.
